About this ebook

A bizarre crime scene. A four-legged suspect. Can our sleuth find the real killer before her career goes down the drain?

Desperate to stop her PI business from going belly-up, Verity Hawkes doesn’t hesitate to dive into the next case she finds: a body in a septic tank. But just when she thinks her investigation couldn’t get any more peculiar, she’s shocked to learn the accused perp is the town’s beloved billy goat.

Verity has to juggle her meddling aunt, a surly former soldier, and a tuxedo-wearing cat to sanitize this baffling homicide. But when the investigation takes a sinister turn, she suspects darker forces are at work.

Can Verity track down the mysterious murderer before her reputation is flushed away?

Doubt on a Limb is the riotous eighth book in The Leafy Hollow cozy mystery series. If you like zany heroines, humorous twists, and stories that keep you guessing, then you’ll love Rickie Blair’s charming small-town escapade.

I have read all the book in the Leafy Hollow series. Verity Hawkes is nuts. She has started a private investigation company to go along with her lawn care business. She gets hired to prove that goat didn’t kill someone by headbutting him into a septic tank. And she thought her business was going to be looking for lost dogs! Not quite as zany as the first seven, but still pretty fun to read. Some of the more goofy secondary characters take a backseat in this edition. Still, there is plenty going on. Enough dead people to fill several books while still being a fun read. If you enjoy cozy get all of these and read away. Be prepared for several hours of fun.

Rickie Blair has done it again! I absolutely loved this book. With each installment, the books get better and more intricate. The banter between characters is quick and witty, making the entire story fun to read. The twists and turns of the story keep you guessing, and the entire book is fast-paced and intriguing. And as always, it's great to read a book set in Canada, with Canadian references. If you haven't started this series, what are you waiting for?
