Isadora Brown has done smashingly well with this Academy Series. This is the first 4 books in this series. It's a dark paranormal romance, with some very hot and steamy sex scenes! The series follows Kara, who is a keeper. Kara is on a journey to find out where her brother is, and exactly what happened to her parents. She has so many questions. She doesn't feel like she belongs anywhere. When she is invited to go to the Keeper's Academy, she hopes that will change. She hopes to find her answers. She thinks for once she will finally fit in. It doesn't go that way for her. The only one willing to help her is Keaton. He is a mean ghost, who is off hus rocker crazy. He will help her, but he has a deal offer. He was trapped in his crypt 100 years ago, because he is so dangerous. He says in exchange for her freeing him from the crypt, he will help find her brother, and her answers. But, to do that, she must marry him. Is she willing to do that? Does he have any redeemable qualities? I

Steamy paranormal action! If this doesn’t leave you panting then I don’t know what will! Keaton is the quintessential bad boy rolled up in an undead body but, in spite of the moldy bits, Kara can’t stop wanting him. It’s not all hot scenes though. There is a good plot and plenty of paranormal action going on. I can’t wait to start on the next book to see what’s in store for this series. I received a free copy of this book but my review is honest and voluntary.

This is the first four books in an ongoing series and honestly, once you read the first one, you're going to want to read the others. It's fast-paced, with mystery and intrigue and a lot of hot scenes combined with great characters. Possibly my favorite thing about this series is the evolution of their relationship. Keaton is beginning to have feelings, Kara is building up her independence. The sex scenes are raunchy, dirty, graphic and somehow still simultaneously passionate and sensual. Despite their flaws, they are both characters I've come to care about. The author has created an original world, with a unique setting in The Void - a place somewhat like Purgatory, though the denizens seem much more likely to be headed down than up. I want to know what comes next, I want all the secrets to be revealed, and most of all, I want to see how Kara and Keaton get along and evolve.
