I thought I was going to read a new series from one of my favorite authors and all I got were all her past books combined. Between the living on the wrong side of the law for the right reasons ( recent leopard books) to borderline verbal abuse (recent ghostwalker books) and the ever-present I know she's mine when I hear and see her for the first time (carpathian books) it's like she was changing directions left and right, not in a good direction I might add. Every book seems to be getting more and more abusive towards the leading female character, the very reason I first fell in love her writing was the respect and love shared between each couple. Why Mrs Feehan do you need to constantly put your heroine down and make her feel inferior and why does your heroine have no strong sense of self like Raven did? Why are your hero's becoming increasingly abusive verbally?🤔

If you are wanting very dominant sex scenes. And reading mostly about a woman harping about how she isn't good enough to be with the man and being upset that he was a playboy. And a man harping about how he can't change the past, and she should just get over herself and accept he will be ****ing her as much as possible, this book is for you. Very little story to it other than that. It seems most of her books in the last several years follow that same model.

I loved the story and shadow walking but I did not like the sex. I love Christines books but I wish she would rate them with x for sexual content. This was xxxx and not my thing. T K
