About this eBook

New York Times bestselling author Nalini Singh returns to her extraordinary Psy-Changeling world with a story of wild passion and darkest betrayal...

Control. Precision. Family. These are the principles that drive Silver Mercant. At a time when the fledgling Trinity Accord seeks to unite a divided world, with Silver playing a crucial role as director of a worldwide emergency response network, wildness and chaos are the last things she needs in her life. But that’s exactly what Valentin Nikolaev, alpha of the StoneWater bears, brings with him.

Valentin has never met a more fascinating woman. Though Silver is ruled by Silence—her mind clear of all emotion—Valentin senses a whisper of fire around her. That’s what keeps him climbing apartment buildings to be near her. But when a shadow assassin almost succeeds in poisoning Silver, the stakes become deadly serious…and Silver finds herself in the heart of a powerful bear clan.

Her would-be assassin has no idea what their poison has unleashed...

SILVER SILENCE is the first book in a new story arc in the Psy-Changeling universe. I gotta tell you, I absolutely devoured this book! It was so exciting and funny and heartfelt and just about destroyed me! Right away we (the readers) are swept into a dangerous and deadly new world where the humans, Changelings (animal shapeshifters) and Psy (psychically enhanced) are trying to coexist peacefully. Not everyone, however, wants peace. I was glued to my Kindle screen the entire time! In reading previous Psy-Changeling books, I’ve struggled at times trying to keep up with the politics aspect of the books, but not with SILVER SILENCE. I was easily able to follow all the storylines and the political nuances. It’s an exciting and amazing book and I cannot WAIT for the next one! Can we talk about Valentin? Oh my goodness! He is hands down the best hero I’ve ever read! I fell in love with that big bear so hard and fast! I melted every single time he romanced his Silent Silver. Where can I get me a Changeling alpha bear? Sign me up! What I really loved about this book was the exquisite balance of danger and humor. The StoneWater bear clan was the comic relief and had me laughing out loud when I wasn’t crying or squeezing my Kindle in suspense! Nalini Singh made magic once again with this timeless love story. SILVER SILENCE is the BEST book of 2017 thus far. Amazing is such an inadequate word to describe how wonderful this story is. I highly recommend and strongly encourage everyone to pick up SILVER SILENCE or any one of Nalini Singh’s books! I voluntarily read a copy of the book in exchange for an honest review. All thoughts and feelings are my own.

I remember the time when Kaleb Krycheck was first introduced into the series and I hoped that he would have the chance to show his own story. So, when Heart of Obsidian was slated to be released, I had to squirm for a good year waiting until the following summer to get my hands on that book. I was not disappointed. The reason why I mentioned that is due to the simple fact that I felt the same whenever more of Silver was shown in the books. Snippets, really, but she always was an interesting character. You could only imagine my excitement when Nalini Singh released the news that Silver Silence was going to come out and, even better, a new changeling pack was entering the storyline. I all but tossed my phone out of excitement. I’ll try to be short. The book was amazing as always. This time, however, the enemy seems more dangerous with their propensity for violence. The race to confront this enemy is even direr than their past enemies because there was no rhyme or reason for their want of dissent and chaos. Personally, I think there was more losses than gains for all involved except the Consortium. It was very frustrating but otherwise, understandable the way the story was progressing. I sure hope the next book finds a more advantageous win for the good side. The Mercants. I love them. I always knew they were a unique family with a special spark in them. The bears? ADORABLE. I think I finally found the changeling group I can relate to. What a riot. As for Silver and Valentin, I thought they were such a perfect match to each other and I couldn’t help grinning from reading their interactions. Good grief. Bear does know how to court a queen. Another thing I appreciated in this book was finally seeing a semblance of same sex relationships. I thought it was strange for changelings or even humans not to show it but I just took as a fact in that day and age that it was an accepted reality and not so strange, thus, nothing to specially mention. Judging by how it was handled here, I think that to be the case. I giggled at the scenes. Poor man doesn’t quite know how to handle it yet. Bears.

This was my least liked story. I have read all the series up to date. This one lacked continuity, creative detail and character development, it felt rushed. Almost got the impression it was written by someone else.
