From the #1 Sunday Times bestselling author of the Caraval series, the first book in a new series about love, curses, and the lengths that people will go to for happily ever after.

For as long as she can remember, Evangeline Fox has believed in happily ever after. Until she learns that the love of her life is about to marry another, and her dreams are shattered.

Desperate to stop the wedding, and heal her wounded heart, Evangeline strikes a deal with the charismatic, but wicked, Prince of Hearts. In exchange for his help, he asks for three kisses, to be given at the time and place of his choosing.

But after Evangeline's first promised kiss, she learns that bargaining with an immortal is a dangerous game - and that the Prince of Hearts wants far more from her than she pledged. He has plans for Evangeline, plans that will either end in the greatest happily ever after, or the most exquisite tragedy . . .

This book was entertaining but not the best thing I've ever read. It was a bit boring (at least for me) at first. I'm not really a fantasy reader so I don't know if this is how fantasy book usually go like the first book is more of an explanation and the second book is where the like 'action' starts. Also idk maybe it's just me but I found Evangeline really annoying during the first chapters... (...more than a few chapters)

the first view chapters went a bit slow but i understand that it's the first of the series, we gotta be introduced to the MCs, places, etc ... the story is getting escalated mid-book with a non-stop plot twist and emotional roller coaster which i love, specially the drama. some people might think it's cheesy but to me books/movies/series had to put some dramas to get you hooked. and i got hooked by this book, can't even pick other book to read (i'm serious) at least not untill i get to read the complete series. i give 3.90 ⭐

It's rare that I give up on a book. I try to read them all to the end. This one has beat me. Really not my cup of tea.
