About the author

Steve Rosenberg has been a professional photographer and photojournalist since 1980 and is an active member of the Society of American Travel Writers SATW and The North American Travel Journalists Association NATJA. He has produced 27 books, including travel guides for Lonely Planet, Cruising Guides and Aqua Quest Publishing. He has written hundreds of articles for various U.S and International Publications. Thousands of his images have appeared in books and magazines worldwide. He has also won more than 250 awards for his photography in international competitions, including a gold medal in the prestigious Hans Hass competition in Austria. Steve’s experience in the Turks and Caicos Islands dates back to the early 1990’s when he first visited the islands. Since that time, he has made many visits to the Turks and Caicos creating photographic imagery, teaching seminars, performing research, and leading tour groups. He received the prestigious Platinum Pro 5000 certification from Scuba Schools International in 1996, and currently has almost eight thousand dives, most of them with camera in hand. In 1998 he took First and Fourth Place in the Turks and Caicos International Underwater Photography Competition, when photographers from all over the world came to the Turks and Caicos in 1997 and 1998 to participate in the six-month contest, with the winning images featured in a series of commemorative stamps.
