Talon Lore was a SEAL and has been recovering since 2 years ago his squad's truck was deliberately rerouted over an antitank landmine where one died and the other 6 suffered life changing injuries. Badger Horley (one of the team) realised it was deliberate later plus family members or loved ones of the team have died in accidents (that appear in retrospect to not be) and so they are now investigating it. As part of the investigation Talon has to go and see the sister of his best friend and tell her his was murdered not in an accident. Clary Witcher was his girlfriend until she issued him and ultimatum and he chose to stick with the Navy. Now he has to see her after 10 years plus he needs to try and keep her safe. From Clary's point of view she has never forgotten Talon and has not been able to move on even though she had married. She is now divorced but knows if love won't make him stay then she will face danger on her own. Gosh - as with all of these stories it was a roller-coaster of emotions, action and progress on the search for the person behind their comrade's death and the murders of their loved ones. The book went from emotional moments, to danger, drama and action. The one thing you will definitely be able to say about this book is that you cannot be be bored . There were a few surprises and twists/turns which also kept the interest going in the story. It well written and everything thing was well written and explained to the reader. I enjoyed the way it ended and it was great to have a summary of where they were with the mystery and what they intended to do next.

Truths unveiled leave you reeling in more pain… TALON, brings us to Bk 4 in the Seals of Steel series. The plot has taken a decidedly twisted, heartbreaking turn for the Seals of Steel team. As Talon and Lazlo investigate Talon’s best friends “accident” - it opens up old wounds for Clary. It also gives them both an opportunity to be honest and find something new. Talon just has to protect Clary from the very despicable and atrocious realizations that are still all to real. Deadly intentions that continue to escalate. Clary… oh boy is that girl feisty and filled with fire. I wasn’t sure at first if I was going to like her snarky attitude at times but honestly… Dale has written Clary’s character perfectly. Sometimes we aren’t at our best, we are flawed and full of emotions that overwhelm us. We just function! Hopefully along the way, someone comes back to us with patience and honesty, some heart -to-heart communication. It takes moment a of self reflection, when everything falls into place… that moment of clarity - to know what we need to do to have her second chance. Wonderful, intelligent, patient and compassionate characters that are reeling from horrific injuries, learning to deal with life and limitations as it now is yet never giving up and learning to adapt through any hardship that comes their way. Determined to find answers and to right the wrongs perpetrated. Dale continues her captivating series with yet another page-turning drama. Intrigue, twists and unexpected turns - with TALON. I highly recommend not only reading TALON, if you haven’t started, go back to the beginning and start reading the SEALS OF STEEL series . It’s for those that love military based heroes and the women that capture their attention, protect those they care and love.

We're at the half-way point for this series of interconnected standalone romances, and WOW this story has all the feels! It's a beautiful second-chance romance for Talon and Clary, both still grieving over the senseless death of her brother who was his best friend. The investigation that spans the entire series has led Talon, along with Laszlo, back to California to break the news to Clary about the truth behind Chad's death, and while they're there they realize she's still being stalked by whoever is behind the whole mess. The reasons these two broke up years before are heartbreaking and realistic, but not impossible to overcome. They each have gone through so much loss in the meantime. Watching them learn to trust and heal their hearts was simply beautiful. And the action! More details emerge about the explosion that started everything as well as the murders since. As the former SEALs keep pursuing every lead and tugging every loose thread, the body count increases and it's anyone's guess as to where it will all lead. The nail-biting action only lets up enough to refocus on our young couple and their efforts to mend a rift that never should have happened. Talon and Clary get their HEA romantically, but the investigation continues into the next book. For the romance alone, these books are wonderful standalones. But to follow the mystery into why these seven men were injured in the first place and who's behind the current terror, you'll want to read each book in order. I am loving each book and anxiously awaiting the next installment. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.
