About this eBook

A family contract. A dark bargain. No escape.

Eleven years ago, I met him. A year later, I was betrothed to him. Now he’s come to claim me, slaughtering anyone standing in his way.

My husband-to-be is a monster from a family as ruthless and powerful as mine, a man who deals in violence and destruction... a man terrifyingly like my father. For over a decade, he’s stalked me, shadowing my life.

I fear him. I hate him. Worst of all, I want him.

My name is Alina Molotova, and Alexei Leonov is a fate I can’t escape.

Anna Zaires continues to be the queen of dark romance with this beginning of Alina and Alexei’s story. It starts with Alexei having already drugged Alina and taken her to a boat somewhere unknown. We’re slowly revealed the tangled history between the two of them as the book flips between the present and the past. Alexei has been obsessed with Alina for over 10 years, biding his time until he could make her his. He’s always been keeping tabs on every detail of her life. When Alina discovers

I just have to warn you that you are not going to put this book down. I devoured this bad boy and was finished before I realized it. This is the story of Alexi and Alina. I thought that their journey was not an easy one and I don't really feel like going into the story for fear of giving something away. Alina is the daughter of one of Moscow's mot notorious crime families. However she finds herself on a yacht and no idea how she got there until she realizes that Alexei who she has been promised to since she was eighteen has kidnapped her. Now you have to figure out why she was taken in the first place since they were betrothed to each other and what a journey this is. You will not put this book down. I have to say too that Alina got on my nerves at times. I thought she needed to smarten up, but don't give up on her she will surprise you. I really l loved this book though and it is one you do not want to miss.

Oh my goodness this book was amazing and now I wait for book 2! I was instantly sucked into the story and love the characters. Alina is a strong character, having been put through so much for a long time. She certainly isn't a pushover. Far from it! Alexei's character is purely alpha possessiveness mixed with a calm and calculated demeanor. Just the right combination to be dangerous and compelling. The two of them definitely have a push and pull reaction to each other. In my opinion it's a wonderfully written book and I'm so excited to find out what happens next for Alina and Alexei. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
