This is book six in the Cowboy Lawmen series, however I feel it is a sand alone, as I have not read any of the previous books and I had no problem keeping up. I do feel however that I missed a lot of history of the Avery family. I will go back and read the others from this series. Deputy Cecile Richardson and Sheriff Josh Avery must try to find a serial killer all while staying one step ahead of him and trying to work around their relationship. Virginia Vaughan has written another excellent romantic suspense novel. The main characters In Texas Buried Secrets are Cecile and Josh. The deputy and the sheriff are dedicated to and good at their jobs. Both characters are easy to like, and as I learned their backgrounds, their actions became easy to understand. There is a lot of action and suspense in this well-written story. Phrases like "nail-biting" and "edge of your seat" definitely describe this book.

This was the final book in the Cowboy Lawman Series. I have loved every one of them. This one is about a cold case serial killer and starts with a dead body. I like that Deputy Cecile Richardson kept looking for her missing friend. There is a lot of faith shown in this story. Also the character Sheriff Josh Avery had a lot of guilt over losing a loved one to work through. It was a faced pace easy to read book as they try to find a killer. I definitely recommend this series.
