Wow. I have read every one of Barbara Erskine's novels and her 19th delivers as usual. As a historian she weaves historical detail into her stories and provides wonderful time slip novels that keep you reading to the end - I also love that she writes such long novels, and they don't finish too quickly. She marries well christian and spiritual beliefs with non traditional spirituality and the idea of good and evil. Always believable characters and story lines mixing the modern day with history. They are wonderful stories to re-read and I like that characters, such as Mervyn appear in many of her books as a character or reference. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.
