In this second book of the Justifiable Cause series, Jo and Gabe's relationship continues to grow. While it's getting more difficult to keep it under wraps, they must or risk getting pulled off the task force. Neither want to risk that since they are getting closer everyday to catching the elusive Martinson. While you can read this on a standalone basis, it's much more enjoyable if you read book 1 The Chase first. And again, while there is no cliffhanger, you know the story isn't finished yet. Can't wait to read more of Jo and Gabe's story in the next book.

Part two of the Justifiable Cause series THE EVASION picks up 6 weeks after book one, and I was surprised that it could be read as a standalone; Ms. Giordano supplies enough information that a new reader to the series wouldn’t be completely lost. As Jo and Gabe finally acknowledged their attraction and acted on it, I found things a bit more relaxed. Their quest for the counterfeiting smugglers takes them to South Carolina, where things get prickly. I really liked THE EVASION, it’s more my style; it focuses more on the suspense angle than Gabe’s obsession with Jo’s body parts; it’s a really exciting episode, and on the third instalment and conclusion! I received a complimentary copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
