S. Leona Green was born in Columbus Ohio, 1952 and graduated from the Ohio State University in 1984 with a Bachelor’s of Arts in Journalism. Between 1985 and 1992 I reported for the Call and Post Newspaper in Columbus and was a Special Education Substitute teacher in Columbus City Schools. Upon being assigned a long-term position subbing with Columbus City Schools at Franklin County’s Detention Center, I became Facility Manager working daily with many youth who suffered trauma. Leaving there I enrolled into Capital University’s law school and took a position with the State of Ohio, in Legislative and Communicative Affairs. After working with various legislators and people representing Ohio’s congress, I left Columbus Ohio and took a position teaching at Savannah Technical College in Savannah Georgia as an adjunct professor. During that time I also returned to school to obtain a Masters in Education from Capella University going forward to also work on a PhD in Educational Psychology.
