This is book two in the Cowboy Protectors series, however it is a stand alone book. You will miss some history in some of the characters and a good read, you can easily read this first and not be lost. This book is full of mystery, suspense, drama and of course romance. Brett Harmon is trying to figure out his life and is not expecting the beautiful Jaycee Richmond to stumble into his life. When Jaycee and Brett find they must work together they are not expecting so many things to connect them.

Texas Ranch Target is Virginia Vaughan's second book in the Cowboy Protectors series. It can be read as a stand alone. I thoroughly enjoyed Brett and Jaycee's story. It is full of action and suspense. The plot is very well written and the character development is excellent. You'll get the perfect amount of plot twists that'll keep you engaged, and guessing, throughout the entire story. I'm looking forward to reading the next book in this series. My thanks to the author/publisher for the ARC of this book. I was only asked to write an honest review. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

I really enjoyed reading Texas Ranch Target. The main characters Jaycee and Brett are likeable, but fallible, making them easy to relate to. There are great supporting characters among Brett's family. The themes of faith and forgiveness of others and self are addressed well. The book starts off with Jaycee having fled after being shot at, and now someone is trying to get into her hotel room. The action only makes brief pauses after that, but the suspense doesn't let up.
