About this eBook

Hunter Blake wasn’t planning to get married in Vegas. Then again, he doesn’t plan much, living life by the seat of his pants as he tries to outrun the towering shadow of his MLB Hall of Famer father’s reputation. But when he wakes up next to Marlowe Story—his friend with benefits, his partner in crime, and the woman of his dreams—with a ring on his finger, for once he doesn’t want to run from the consequences of his actions. Hunter feels like a different man when he’s with Marlowe. A better man. Somehow, she’s able to pull him out of his own head and help him tame his self-destructive tendencies.

Marlowe Story’s country music songs tell stories of fairy tale love, but Marlowe doesn’t believe in happily ever after. She barely survived her last relationship, and she refuses to let herself fall for anyone ever again. Not even her friend with benefits, Hunter, no matter how safe she feels with him. How cherished and protected. He’s passionate and driven, and makes her wish things could be different for them.

But they can’t, even though they decide to see the marriage through for the publicity. And Marlowe knows that if she’s going to survive this situation, there’s one simple rule she has to follow: do not fall in love with Hunter Blake.

Wild Card is the second book in the Dallas Longhorns series and is an entertaining read. This marriage of convenience baseball romance shows that what happens in Vegas may not always stay there. Marlowe and Hunter are great characters, likable, and relatable. The storyline is well written and enjoyable with a drunken marriage turning into a marriage of convenience. Is there any chance for this marriage to become a real one? I read and reviewed this book with no obligation.

This is the second book in the Dallas Longhorns series and if like me you like a good fake relationship/marriage romance then you will really enjoy Hunter and Marlowe's book I really liked Hunter in the first book so could not wait to dive into this one and it was another super read but I will admit it took me a little while to warm to Marlowe but she did grow on me the more I got to know her. I enjoyed this book it was a really good read

Marlowe and Hunter have been friends with benefits off and on for a time. Marlowe is a singer whose latest album isn’t doing too well whereas Hunter is a baseball player who likes having too much of a good time which gets him in trouble. Marlowe suggests they meet in Vegas and Hunter is happy to oblige, they wake up married! It was good to see how their relationship developed throughout the book and to see that sense prevailed in the end. A good second book in this series. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
