Paige Tyler’s To Love a Wolf is a thrilling addition to the SWAT: Special Wolf Alpha Team Series. SWAT officer Landry Cooper saves the life of Everly Danu. He is certain she is the one, but when her family discovers that he is a werewolf, they try to keep them apart. This PNR/Urban Fantasy novel takes place in Dallas, Texas. It is suitable for adults. To Love a Wolf has become my new favorite book in this series. I could not put it down. One exciting thing happened after the other. I was impressed with Paige Tyler’s EOD (Explosive Ordnance Disposal) knowledge. I wasn’t surprised when I read in the acknowledgement that her husband and writing partner was a former Army EOD for twenty years. It was obvious in the writing. The novel was extremely credible. I like how the story started with how Landry was turned while her served in the army outside Samarra City, Iraq in 2009. I also, loved its relevance in the story. The characters are well-developed and likeable. It was great that Gage’s and Mac’s (from book one) wedding was in this story. I appreciate how close the SWAT team is. Landry is the wolf all the other guys always go to for advice. It was interesting to see that tables turned on him in this story. I like Everly. Her family’s background was an interesting twist to the story. They are understandable overprotective over her. SWAT: Special Wolf Alpha Team is an excellent series for anyone who enjoys PNR/Urban Fantasy with a law enforcement element. I am looking forward to Alex Trevino story. This is one novel that will leave you all hot and bothered! Tyler cranks up the chemistry throughout as her larger than life characters battle life and death situations amidst the wonders of falling in love. The plot was intricately crafted and the wonders of the werewolf world really shone. I love how Tyler explains the inexplicable in ways that allow you to picture it happening right next door to you. As exciting and fast paced as this novel is, Tyler also definitely had me in tears more than once. Emotions are ramped up as characters battle coming to grips with their new realities. As exciting as the plot of this novel was, the characters were even better. Landry’s alpha personality drew me in from the first moment that I met him. He is not the type of character that you can ignore. Everly’s heart and her definite stance, knowing her own mind, was fantastic. Everly’s family was definitely an unexpected twist in this cast. Their prejudices and overbearing natures were the exact opposite to the SWAT team’s personalities yet at the same time, their caring and love for family can’t be mistaken. This was a fantastic addition to Tyler’s SWAT series that is a must read for anyone who enjoys high energy suspense and some drool-worthy shifters. TO LOVE A WOLF is what suspense is all about, is what paranormal romance is all about, it has it all, and superbly well done! The suspense and action could easily stand on their own, and the romance alone is worth reading, but combined, you have a book that can’t be beat! Landry Cooper, from the Dallas Police Department’s SWAT team meets Everly Danu under peculiar circumstances: during a holdup in a bank. Being a werewolf, Landry needs to be careful not to be noticed, but it proves a tad difficult, especially when he needs to save Everly. TO LOVE A WOLF has a literally explosive beginning, and this is just the tip of the iceberg! This is a supremely exciting book, full of action and extremely fast paced, and I think Landry and Everly might be my favourite best couple in this series. They are both very engaging people, I liked them right away, and their connection was so well written, and felt so authentic, that within a few pages, I was rooting for them. The romance is entirely convincing, the chemistry between Landry and Everly is undeniable, and the sex scenes are some of the best ever from this author. Paige Tyler has written an exceptionally tight plot, the paranormal element is exploited in a most original way, and made for unexpected soul-searching for one of the characters. TO LOVE A WOLF is intense, sweet, suspenseful, sexy, intelligent, and impossible to put down. Paige Tyler has set the bar for herself extremely high again. And read the Acknowledgements: they are some of the most interesting I have ever read. TO LOVE A WOLF is a resounding success!
