Taylor Powell is back from Afghanistan, and his buddies and their significant others are in a matchmaking mood; even the server at the local bar has “someone she wants him to meet”. So he lies, he says he does have a girlfriend, but now he has to bring said girlfriend to the bonfire his friends are holding, 2 days away. Taylor has to find someone, and who better than his friend Cat. Cat Peres and Taylor have been friends since they were children, even their mothers are BFFs. Cat has been lusting after Taylor since she’s known what lust is, but she has always been one of the guys, even to Taylor. Cat’s job probably doesn’t help either: she’s a contractor, and not a girlie-girl, and definitely not Taylor’s type; she’s acknowledged that a long time ago. On the day before the big non-date, Cat is fixing things at the Taylor house, for his mother, and he begins to see that she might be a girl after all… Tawny Weber always delivers: you get complex characters, women who are not dependant on men, and sexy SEALs. I wasn’t sure how the story would go, because Taylor’s “mission: seduction” seemed a bit cold and calculated; he’s thinking only of sex and that nothing will change. He now sees Cat as a sexy woman, but he still does not se her as a potential girlfriend, and this is because of personal issues he refuses to deal with. Cat is a strong career woman, but I felt a bit sorry for her for carrying a torch for Taylor for so long. Maybe I was not in the right frame of mind when I read A SEAL’S TOUCH, but I didn’t connect with the characters, especially Taylor, as I usually do with Ms. Weber’s. But still, there are quite unexpected plot twists I never saw coming, great background on both Cat and Taylor, and of course lots of steamy sex! I received a complimentary copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Fantastic read! It's a wonderful friends to lovers story with just the right amount of angst to make it appealing. Taylor Powell is back stateside after a FUBAR mission in Afghanistan. Downtime is exactly what he needs. What he doesn't need is all his well meaning friends trying to set him up. To avoid all the awkwardness he convinces lifetime friend Cat Peres to be his fake girlfriend. Little problem though, Cat isn't the young girl he remembers. She's all woman now and ready for a little fun with her dream SEAL. Definitely a fun story you want to read. I highly recommend it.
