About the author

Tim Delaney is Professor and Department Chair of Sociology at the State University of New York at Oswego and is the author of numerous books and articles. He has research interests in many areas of speciality including friendship and happiness studies, social theory, popular culture, sports studies and crime and social deviance. 

Tim Madigan is Professor and Department Chair of Philosophy at St. John Fisher College in Rochester, New York. He is the President of the Bertrand Russell Society and co-editor (with Peter Stone) of the book Bertrand Russell: Public Intellectual. He is also the co-author (with Tim Delaney) of the books Friendship and Happiness and the Connection Between the Two, Lessons Learned from Popular Culture, The Sociology of Sport (2nd edition), and Beyond Sustainability: A Thriving Environment.
