About this ebook

A blogger’s life begins to unravel after her son is kidnapped in this psychological thriller by the author of A Mother Like You.

To the world, I’m @HappyWife. Online, people only see my picture-perfect home, my handsome husband, Nick, and my beautiful baby, Thomas.

They don’t see the real Gemma Adams. They don’t see my past, the dark secrets I’m hiding in my marriage. They don’t see the fear I live in every single day.

But I know someone is watching me. And now, they’ve taken Thomas.

I just don’t know why.

But I’m going to stop at nothing to get my baby back.

Even if it destroys everything, I’ve got to find him . . .

A perfect choice for fans of K. L. Slater and Lisa Jewell.

The lines between the perfectly curated image created for the world are blurring into a hideous reality where Gemma’s picture perfect life is narrowed to a singular point of focus, the terror of losing her son Thomas. Gemma has carefully created the image of her life that she shares with the world, but who has managed to break through to her reality and turn it into a nightmare. Ruby Speechley has crafted an evocative and compelling tale that takes you on an emotional rollercoaster. Any story that involves the kidnapping of a child is always going to be a tense read but, the added subjects of domestic abuse and violence adds another layer to it, which Ruby does handle sensitively but doesn’t gloss over the seriousness of them. The characters have been well developed and are a mix bunch of likeable and unlikable. Ruby has done a great job with them and each brings the story to life in the roles they have been given, good and bad. In terms of the pace it moves fast which is also helped by the short chapters. The only thing I did find was the outcome was a bit rushed but in saying that it still had an impact and did not hinder my overall enjoyment of the book. Ruby Speechley has fast become one of my favourite authors and it is always such a joy to read her books. The Face at the Window is another example of her creating a gripping, engrossing and well written tale to add to her growing bibliography. All up, this is a cracking read and I look forward to reading what Ruby comes up with for us next.

I love the character Scarlett even though she did terrible things. The ending was a bit silly. But overall a great read. I love this author.
