About this ebook

The fourth book in the USA Today bestselling Carly Moore series.

Be careful where you dig…

Life in Drum, Tennessee has been quiet since corruption was uncovered in the sheriff’s department three months ago—too quiet. Still, Carly is shocked when she discovers one of her sweetest lunch customers at the tavern has committed murder in cold blood.

Carly is certain the woman was fulfilling an infamous “favor” for the town patriarch, Bart Drummond, but now she has to prove it. She already knew that Drum has two sides—the side they show the world, and the seedy underbelly. Only in Drum, all things seedy lead back to two men—Bart Drummond and the local drug king, Todd Bingham.

The deeper Carly gets, the more she begins to question everything, even her desire to have her own family. But even if she could forget Bart’s threat is hanging over her head, she can’t forget that her father is still searching for her, ready to drag her back to her own death. She needs to uncover the truth, but everything is buried in secrets.

Things have quieted down in Drum since part of the corruption going down in the sheriff's department was uncovered. This is one of the reasons Carly is shocked to discover one of her lunch customers at the tavern has committed murder in cold blood. She is still digging into Drum's history and investigating Bart Drummond's favors and is convinced that the murder was one of them, but you should be careful where you dig… I have to say I LOVED this book, it was the perfect balance between mystery, intrigue, and romance! So first, thank you for giving some love to mama, she is as happy as a clam, second, the mystery aspect inside this book was amazing! It was different from the other ones and from what you have read in Rose's books but it was perfection! This plot is going to set the tone for the next book and I can't wait to see where Denise takes us with it. I was shocked to see Carly burn some bridges but it was an emergency, also I'm intrigued about how everything will resolve in book 5, parting from three big things that happened here, without giving out any spoilers I'll call them, the talk with 'the cups', the missing talk in the parking lot, and last but not least someone else knowing Carly's secret... and that's all I'm going to say. I highly recommend this book, this whole series to be honest, Denise is a master at creating universes, and even if this one is a spin-off of Rose's I can assure you it has a different feeling. I'm super excited to learn more about Drum's secrets and take down Bart and Carly's father.

I’m speechless. It was intense and every bit amazing. This was the usual exciting mystery and suspense but then it added additional twists that leaves you stunned. “Just one more chapter...” This is what I repeated to myself over and over into the middle of the night. Lack of sleep, bags under my eyes, eyes heavy. I just kept wanting to see what would happen next. Someone in town has been arrested for cold blood murder. One that no one would have expected. Carly is determined to find out why and if there is a tie to Bart Drummond which could bring more evidence to help her bring him down. She of course digs into so many secrets she needs to sort out which ones to focus on. Secrets that no one would have guessed. I absolutely love how the author takes you on an investigation to find all these clues, your mind can’t resist going into different scenarios to figure out the mystery yourself. I think that’s what makes it so much fun is trying to figure it out with the information you come across. Once you think you figured it out... BAM! There is an unexpected event Think things are leveling out and you are thrown for another loop and your jaw drops. But that’s not all, let’s add another hook into the storyline. This was emotional but so well written that it leaves you with a book hangover. Highly recommend reading this book as well as the series if you haven’t already started. It will keep you on the edge of your seat.

This book we get to know Carly a whole lot better. She is finally bringing down her walls and starting to be her own person. We get to see she isn't just a person from another book. I am glad she is starting to except this town as home. I am so happy for her and Marco. I think he brings out a better person in people not just Carly. This book brings the town closer in some ways all thanks to Max. It also makes you wonder who is really the bad guy. You are going to question the way you look at some people after this book. I want to tell you so much about but am so afraid I will spoil something for you. You are going to laugh and cry at so many parts of this book. The end have a tissue box. Denise really has a way to pull your heartstrings. Good and Bad are never what they seem. I think some old characters have secretly come out to play. I think they are starting to play their hand in this game. They just waiting there time to show their cards. Carly IS Caroline and we need to remember that. Buried in Secrets is really the best title for this book. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
