Maria Weston wants to be friends with me

Maybe that had been the problem all along: Maria Weston had wanted to be friends with me, but I let her down.

She's been hovering at the edge of my consciousness for all of my adult life, although I've been good at keeping her out, just a blurred shadow in the corner of my eye, almost but not quite out of sight.

Maria Weston wants to be friends.

But Maria Weston has been dead for more than twenty-five years.

I really enjoyed this book, took me a little time to get into it but after a few paragraphs I was looking forward to the kids going to bed so I could pick it up again. Will definitely add this author on to my list 👍

Not written in a gripping way, I skimmed many pages which were full of unnecessary detail. The twists were ok but didn't leave me shocked and I just didn't care enough. Not impressed, couldn't wait to finish it so I could get rid of it. Feel bad for writing a scathing review but I'm being honest.

From about page 30, when I knew the characters and the story had begun, I was gripped to the finish! Very believable situations that we can all relate to both as teenagers at school and as adults. A great storyline that had me page turning into the early hours! A fab debut novel!
