What a beautiful love story! Both Travis and Loretta are starting over; he after a year of sobriety and she after the death of her singing partner. The executives pair them up together, but Loretta wants nothing to do with the irresponsible playboy of the tabloids. From this unlikely pairing, a tentative friendship gradually develops. This book just flows like a sweet country song. The King family is going through some things, but they always put family first. I love the way the author makes these characters feel so authentic. I almost believe I could find their songs on the radio! The chemistry between Loretta and Travis adds a delicious layer of tension, as does every interaction with the enigmatic Sawyer. Most of his secret is revealed, but there's still plenty of explaining to do so I hope he gets his own book soon. The songwriting, the awards shows, the concerts, the behind-the-scenes -- every part of this book is written for the heart of a country music fan, and I couldn't have loved it more. Each book has its own HEA and builds on the family dynamics from one to the next. You don't want to miss this lyrical visit with the heartwarming King family.
