Game On: An Aces Hockey Novel

Kelly Jamieson leads the league with GAME ON, the last book in the Aces Hockey series. Cam Brickley’s teammates bet him that he cannot date the same woman for two months and not fall in love with her. Olivia Lockwood needs a spokesman for her charity. They both want something from the other, and neither one of them is interested in an actual relationship. As always, Kelly Jamieson does an amazing job with her character development. Initially, Cam and Olivia used each other; Cam to win a bet and Olivia for PR for her charity. As they get to know each other, feelings develop. I like Olivia. She is an heiress and has been used by people in the past for her connections. Her self-esteem is not the best because she has been verbally beaten down by her family. She is an honorable woman with admirable goals. Cam is a good guy. He’s great with the kids at Olivia’s charity. I like how he defends Olivia. The plot was skillfully executed and interesting. Being a Chicago, I appreciated that this series takes place there. I love all the history that was shared in this story. GAME ON is a hard book to put down and may cause a book hangover. The ending to GAME ON was perfect for not only the book but the series. I am sad this series is over, but I am thrilled that Kelly Jamieson is coming out with a new hockey series (Wynn Hockey) that Aces players will be making an appearance in. I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book.

Great Characters This was an easy fun read about a man saying he would never settle down and a woman who had every material thing within her grasp but was still missing an important piece of herself. Olivia was dedicating her life to a nonprofit organization helping kids be active and a part of something life changing. Now she needed a standout person as her spokesperson. Just her luck she was having drinks at the same bar as where Cam and his friends were having some drinks. What better spokesperson that a pro hockey player at the top of his game. His friends had bet Cam that he couldn’t go out with Olivia for two months without falling in love. This was an easy win for Cam, or so he thought. He wasn’t a long term relationship type of guy and what better way to spend two months than by dating the beautiful Olivia. Both Cam and Olivia stand to gain something by going out. This was a fast paced fun read with laugh out loud moments and at other times had your heart breaking. Even though this is the first book I read in this series I am definitely going back to read the first books.

They even pick out a beautiful, blonde hair, stacked woman at the bar...all Cam has to do is get her to go out with him. The bet is the loser has to due the others jocks straps for the rest of the season. Cam thinks it’s a piece of cake and he will win... Olivia Lockwood, beautiful, sexy and heiress to the Lockwood Industries fortune but is to tired of being used for her connections and money. When Cam approaches her at the bar her first instinct is to turn him down but once she realizes who he is he just might be the spokesperson she needs for her children’s charity.. Sparks fly, laughter, compassion are just a few things going on but are they using each other for their own benefit or will being together show them that love can happens when it’s least expected ..
