This is a lovely festive story about best friends Merry and Nell and their respective families. They run a candle shop together called Merry and Bright by day and go home to the husbands and families at night. Most of the time. For some people, this book might need to come with a trigger warning as it touches on a variety of sensitive topics including death, miscarriage and infertility. Not that they affect me as I seem to have a heart of stone these days.

Cathy Bramley is the Sunday Times Top Ten best-selling author of THE LEMON TREE CAFE. Her other romantic comedies include Ivy Lane, Appleby Farm, Wickham Hall, Conditional Love, The Plumberry School of Comfort Food and White Lies and Wishes. She lives in a Nottinghamshire village with her family and a dog.
