This is a sweet story that ends with *spoiler* a happy ending. It's a short story about shapeshifters set in the Regency era. However, I am disappointed as there was no real climax to the story, no conflict that makes it especially interesting to read. The 'conflict'; that did occur, only lasted a couple of pages and it was resolved very quickly. I just felt that the story was building up to something more. I always enjoy Laura Greenwood's books. This one was short but fun and sweet. It is a friends to lovers paranormal romance. I held a couple surprises but I really appreciated the friends to lovers theme. Victoria and Edmund were fox shifters and friends. Edmund comes to Victoria's rescue and they end up getting closer, which ended up with them becoming more than friends. This is also a regency romance which added to my reading pleasure. Once again, this was a sweet and fun romance by Laura Greenwood. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

It is the Season to look for a husband. Victoria Foxe is a shifter looking for a mate. She reunites with a childhood friend, Edmund, but it never crosses her mind that he would be the one. When a lion shifter pursues her and informs her he is in control of her life, Edmund comes to her rescue. A nice short read where friends become lovers.
