Friedrich Nietzsche (1844- 1900) was a German philosopher and cultural critic who published intensively in the 1870s and 1880s. He was a cultural critic and philologist whose work has exerted a profound influence on modern intellectual history. He began his career as a classical philologist before turning to philosophy.
