Ok but could be better. Took a some effort to get speakers to the same SW version. After that reboot was needed to function properly. I would like to see a "zone" function. Phillips HUE has this for instance. So you can make 1 room with let's say 4 speakers. But also create a Zone in that room with 2 of those speakers so I can send music to the diner table alone without all of them playing. You need to pull the speakers from the group now and create a temp new group. Not very "Smart" sadly.

I quite like it. The integration of inputselection and volumecontrol of my Denon AVR (X1600H) is really neat! One thing bugs me: after updating the app (which is mandatory...) all my loaded (DLNA) albumcovers are gone... There are a few 'simple' things that could make HEOS waaaay better (or more like 'better than whipping a lama's ass', iygwim), 1. *Not* having to enable SMB1 for networkshare (for real tho...) 2. The ability to use 'albumartist' tags. 3. Likewise for composertag (you would make classical music lovers really happy!) 4. Being able to handle >1 artist or genres in a song. 5. Selecting (AV) inputs and musicservers (or parts, e.g. 'artists' or 'genres') directly from the homescreen (or at least being able to add to HEOS favorites) Fewer clicks = way more fun 6. Selectable artist names on 'now playing', 7. Being able to choose to play entire album from 'history list', not just one song. -being able to skip in a song (come on, it's 2020 :D) 8. Improve the Android backbutton behavior: it is really counter intuitive. Most of these things are really normal in free software like the awesome Foobar or Plex: a system for which people pay pretty steep prices (imo) should really have these features. But bottomline: it works quite snappy and has features I've been looking for quite some time, it's easy to use and with some needed additions could really become great.

This app will cause you a lot of frustration. It is very poorly made; if you have not yet acquired the hardware, don't or return it timely. Almost weekly, it cannot find the devices or groups of them (even though they are working fine) and I find myself resetting them and regrouping them, which takes a lot of waiting and crashing of the app, only until a couple of weeks later I get the same annoyance again. It's embarrassing, especially given the price tag of the Denon hardware. Avoid!
