About this audiobook

The old mansion stood at the edge of town, shrouded in darkness and mystery. The locals whispered about the strange happenings that occurred within its walls, the cries in the night and the shadowy figures that lurked in its corridors. But perhaps the most chilling of all was the gazebo that stood in the overgrown garden, a twisted structure of blackened wood and eerie carvings that seemed to pulse with malevolent energy.

The mansion itself had a long and sordid history, stretching back to the earliest days of the town's founding. It was built by Jeremiah Blackwood, a wealthy industrialist with a reputation for cruelty and an unhealthy fascination with the occult. Rumors swirled about the dark rituals he performed in the depths of the mansion's sprawling basement, and the screams that echoed through the night during his infamous parties.

As the years passed, the Blackwood family's influence waned, and the mansion fell into disrepair. The last known inhabitant was Jeremiah's great-granddaughter, Eliza Blackwood, a reclusive woman who rarely ventured beyond the confines of the estate. Locals spoke of her in hushed tones, describing her as a withered crone with eyes that glowed like embers in the darkness.

It was during Eliza's tenure that the gazebo appeared. One stormy night, lightning struck the old oak tree in the center of the garden, splitting it in two. The next morning, where the tree had stood, there was now a gazebo of such intricate and unsettling design that it seemed impossible for it to have been constructed overnight.

No one knew the origin of the gazebo, or why it had been built in such a remote and desolate place. But the stories that surrounded it were enough to make even the bravest souls shudder in fear. They said that those who entered the gazebo never returned, that their souls were trapped within its twisted walls, doomed to wander for eternity.

The first to disappear was young Timothy Hartley, a paperboy who had ventured onto the property on a dare. His bicycle was found abandoned near the gazebo, its wheels still spinning slowly in the morning mist. Despite extensive searches, no trace of Timothy was ever found.
