A tattoo artist who is a hunter and a rescuer. A hacker who is making a difference. Paths that cross and something happens and happens again. Like so many of Abbie Zanders' books Cast in Shadow is a great story and difficult to put down. Many familiar characters are found within the pages, reminding me of previous books and series I have read (and inviting me to reread) and hinting toward future stories. Bravo!! I received a free copy of this book via BookFunnel and am voluntarily leaving a review.

So far, this is my favorite Shadow SEAL book – and Aggie by far my favorite of the main characters. Indomitable and determined, she is perfect for Zeke – both scarred by their pasts and betrayals, and both skilled and fierce. I defy you to start this book and not finish it – the opening chapters are among its greatest strengths and pull the reader in. And then you stay in because you are intrigued, you are curious, and you are as vehement as Aggie that she should succeed. Fantastic cameos from the Callaghans, Connelly cousins, and Sanctuary, but prior reading of those is not necessary to enjoy this standalone; you might, however, be tempted into reading those series too. This was a book I was sorry to see end.

Loved it! Zeke and Aggie's story is one of those fast moving stories - don't blink or you will miss something. I read this in one sitting and just couldn't put it down. There are secrets on both sides of this relationship and learning to trust the other takes time. It is a great story with lots of fantastic cameos from Abbie's other series that just add to the story and make it even more absorbing. I really got a giggle out of Sean 1 and Sean 2. The author did us a solid and gave us an epilogue with a great wrap up for Zeke and Aggie. Give this book a try. Abbie has fantastic stories with great characters and I have never been disappointed with any of her books (but I will admit to being particularly fond of her Mythic series).
