About this ebook

In a world where magic is tightly controlled, the most powerful man in history must choose between his kingdom and his son - in the first book of the New York Times bestselling Lightbringer series. Perfect for fans of Brandon Sanderson, Robin Hobb and Joe Abercrombie.

EVERY LIGHT CASTS A SHADOW.

Guile is the Prism, the most powerful man in the world. He is high priest and emperor, a man whose power, wit, and charm are all that preserves a tenuous peace. Yet Prisms never last, and Guile knows exactly how long he has left to live.

When Guile discovers he has a son, born in a far kingdom after the war that put him in power, he must decide how much he's willing to pay to protect a secret that could tear his world apart.

I've read this book a number of times and each time it still has something new to me that I couldn't recall from the previous times I've read it. The characters each draw you in with their quirks, quips and identifiably separate personalities. The writer has a way of explaining situations and feelings that bring your own to the forefront. You may tear up at points, laugh at others and even get angry. All in all this is a great book to start a series and the series just keeps getting better and better with each book

Almost half way through, I'm totally impressed by the world and characters, Weeks’ imagination is astonishing and the way he express it is just unbelievable. The magic system could be confusing at the beginning but after I read about it in the author's blog I got the idea clearly. Absolutely loving the book and very interested in other books by Weeks.

This is a really enjoyable series. I've read all 4 in about 4 weeks. I found that the Night Angel trilogy seemed to skip over a few parts that I thought could have been explained a bit better but he has nailed it with this one. Really looking forward to the 5th installment. Just hope he doesn't take as long as GRRM.
