The Guest is a Goner is the first book in the Sedona Spirit series and is a great start to the series. I loved the characters of Bernie and her grandmother Ruby. They could not be more different and yet they get along well once Bernie accepts that she is able to see Ruby. This story is fun to read and has murder, mystery, and humour. I am looking forward to more books in this series. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

I enjoyed this quick read cozy mystery. The main character, Bernie, is a high strung woman but very relatable. Her grandma, Ruby, is a ghost who Bernie can see and is her complete opposite. I feel the mystery could have been explored deeper for the readers. But I definitely enjoyed it and recommend this book. The story started badly, for no reason other than to create a plot. Additionally, the two main characters were annoyingly stupid and just plain annoying, respectively, Bad decisions were used to further the story. 5/10 stars.
