The story has stayed so fresh in my mind all these years after reading. Excellent as you'd expect from an awesome author! So good, it makes me wonder at times...was it true lol

About the author

David Gemmell's first novel, Legend, was published in 1984, beginning his acclaimed Drenai saga. He was widely regarded as Britain's king of heroic fantasy. He died in July 2006.
