I love these books and this series and this one is no different in so far as I loved it. They just get better and better. Grayson has finally made it to his grandparents who raised him. They have been hurt by his not wanting them to come to help him with his injuries and hospital stay. He hopes this coming will help with that as he loves them so much and only wants the best for them. He is looking for a missing lady shepard that was a war dog. She is hiding trying to protect a woman and her child. Jessica is perplexed with the dog and why she was hanging around and was worried the dog would hurt her son. Greyson finds himself drawn to the shepard and the relationship and guarding of the small family. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Greyson is working at Titanium Corp, a company that gets ex military SEALs back to work when their injuries are too severe for them to go back into active service. Titanium Corp has gotten an assignment to help the military track down retired military K-9s and ensure they are being treated well. Greyson is asked to go to Hawaii to find the dog, Kona. Since his grandparents live there this is the perfect chance to mix business and pleasure visiting with the grandparent that raised him. Jessica has a fender bender and the other driver tells her it was message from her ex, her lawyer said that her ex wanted custody of their son, and she was getting prank calls. All of these things together have shaken Jessica and she thinks she is going crazy. Greyson found out about the accident around the same time Kona went missing so he thought they may be linked. This was his first lead to follow. When Greyson found Kona he returned to Jessica's house and found a prowler in her yard, Kona attacked. At this point Greyson decided he would provide protection until the people involved were captured. There is a lot of action, breaking and entering, kidnapping. As Jessica and Greyson spend more time together they wonder if this is the beginning of a long relationship. I love books about military dogs and the grandparents are delightful characters. This is my favorite Dale Mayer series. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

I thought that this was a great entry in this wonderful series. I simply adored Grayson, Jessica, Danny and Kona. Each of these characters (other than Danny of course) had some emotional damage going on and I thought how they all found some happiness really beautiful and intensely moving. In my opinion the storyline totally envelopes you and if you are like me you will have a hard time putting it down when you just have to get other things done. A well crafted and enticing combination of deep emotions, romance, suspense and danger make for some really good reading that will have you on the edge of your seat while your heartstrings are firmly tugged on. This is my frank, freely posted review.
