a 3.5 stars read. Another series that I adore from Dale Mayer. It's all about saving war dogs. So yeah who doesn't love that? Aside from saving war dogs, there's always side case that connnected to the romance part. So yeah it's a cute full of actions with wonderful dogs romantic suspense read. It's always an easy-to-read fast-paced page-turner story that can be easily to be devoured in short amount of time. My go-to book when I need a pick-me-up read or just want to read something light, something to read between heavy books. This one is a rescue mission to save Bowser the War Dog that has been sold to a drug dealer and a second chance romance between Harley and Jasmine with ugly past and secrets that pretty complicated. Yup I really enjoyed it, always love when those wonderful dogs in action and love the protectiveness of Harlley towards Jasmine, what I don't like though, that some parts a bit unbelievable for me, but hey It still a fun read for me and if you're looking for a light fast-paced suspense read with wonderful dogs in it, try this one.

Number 14 in the K9 files. It did have me thinking about the story long after I had finished the book. It's about second chances 12 years later. Harley is looking for a War Dog. He meet up with an old friend who catches him up on all he has missed out on in the last 12 years. He visits with Jasmine, his former foster sister and his girl friend. From there things start happening, a bullet through the kitchen window, a treat from a man who manhandles a dog. A run in with this man and another who appears to have another War Dog guarding a building that the police know all about but don't seem too interested in stopping whatever activity is taking place from this building. Jimmy, Jasmine's son goes missing. Round about then Jasmine's mother, whom she cares for, falls and breaks her hip, being admitted to hospital. In this way Jasmine is freed for a little while of her responsibilities toward her mother and can focus on her son and Harley. Harley locates Jimmy, tied up and witness to the beating of another man. He is also privy to hearing what the man pointing a gun at his head did to his mother, all those years ago. He also witness' his biological screwed in the head father's death. The dogs and Harley save the day and all is well for Jimmy, Harley and the dogs. Apparently, a lot of things can happen in a 48 hour period. You do want to continue reading, right to the end, whilst on the edge of your chair. No for the faint hearted either.

Harley has returned to the town he left after only sticking it out while in a foster home until he was old enough to sign up, he is looking for Boswer a war dog that appears to have been sold and to a not so good guy. After being gone so long he wasn't sure what to expect but is shocked by what he is told about Jasmine his foster sister and this leads to danger not for him but Jasmine. I loved how you weren't sure of the reason for the danger to kick off and how it involves Jasmin and I also hated not only how Harley had been treated while being fostered by Jasmin's parent but how he wasn't the only one, do I feel sorry for Jasmine's mum well no, I feel like karma came for a visit. Things slowly start to come together and secrets as well as a haunting event come to light but you are still left guessing for a while on who is behind everything and then when it all comes to ahead you aren't sure who is going to survive as things escalate quickly and has you concerned that Jasmin and Harley don't get the chance they missed out on years ago. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
