About this ebook

Fake dating a hot baseball player—what could go wrong?

When aspiring actress Lucy Younger arrives on Hazel Island to film her first movie, she thinks she’s finally caught her big break. What could be better than spending her summer on a beautiful island while catching the attention of her mega-famous costar?

Enter Carter Roberts: baseball player, playboy, and the most obnoxious, arrogant, and sexy man Lucy has ever had the misfortune to meet.

Soon Carter offers her a role she can’t turn down: play his fake girlfriend and make her costar wild with jealousy.

Never one to turn down a dare, Lucy agrees. But when she starts to fall for Carter, suddenly what was just a game becomes all too real.

After a shoulder injury benches him for the season, star pitcher Carter Roberts is set adrift. When he travels to Hazel Island for work, he doesn’t expect to get anything out of it except an extended vacation.

Until he meets a pretty little spitfire who sets his blood aflame with every barb she throws at him. Lucy thinks she’ll be able to resist him after she agrees to their bargain, but Carter knows that when he kisses her, she’ll forget all about her costar.

Carter soon realizes he wants more than this made-up relationship. But unless he tears down the walls surrounding his heart, he’ll lose the only woman who’s ever mattered.

where do I start?! The heroine is a completely shallow individual that judges people based on appearance and clothes only and has no character development whatsoever throughout the book. The hero is a jerk no better than her so they deserve each other. There is no actual plot, nothing truly dramatic happens and all the tears and suffering seems forced and superfluous. The dialogue is often silly. Overall, don't bother! i couldn't even finish the book.

Carter and Lucy's relationship was from the beginning full of fire what irritated me is the constant nicknamd for Lucy "spitfire" it's just too much. Although she was given then nickname it wasn't fitting. She cried the whole time about everything. She didn't stand up for herself when she was being used or when volatile language was used on her.She just jumped right into bed with carter eventhough he said nasty things towards her.I would of wanted the woman to have a little more backbone . Good story though

A light-hearted contemporary romance, this story brings out the fragile nature of fame and the way in which a single moment can turn the game around. Lucy is a bubbly character, best described as dynamite in a small package, whilst Carter is a somewhat overgrown schoolboy, still given to teasing the girls. The story is cute and generally well written, although I felt at times that the bad language went a little over the top. As the book evolved, both Lucy and Carter had to face up to reality and it was debatable whether they would ever come to their senses. Although this book is part of a series and characters from previous novels appear in this one too, it is nevertheless a standalone and comes to a happy conclusion. I received a copy of this book as a gift and this is my honest and voluntary review.
