About this eBook

She’s too good for this world and he’s her worst nightmare…

Sasha Masters moves away from the political limelight to picturesque Upstate New York. She wants to live quietly without all the fanfare of being a president’s daughter. She opens her own dance studio, has a house close to one of her sisters and is finally content and relaxed.

Enter Danny Larson. He gets a job at her sister’s farm to save money for a degree in agriculture. But it’s nearly love at first sight when he gets a glimpse of Sasha. They fall for each other, though there’s something not right about him that she can’t quite pinpoint.

She’s right. Dan is keeping a secret and it’s a whopper. Can he maintain his dual life or will his love for her make him confess all?

If he does tell her, he’ll lose his life-long dream.

If he doesn’t tell her, he’ll lose Sasha.

I received a complimentary copy of this book and I am voluntarily reviewing it. This is the second book of this series. While it is a part of a series involving the former President’s daughters, you don’t have to read the first one to thoroughly enjoy and understand this. I adore how Ms. Shay writes her stories. We get multiple POVs here not just the 2 main characters. The characters become like friends and getting that glimpse really helps to connect and sometimes reconnect with characters. I also like the continuation of prior couples that are written about. It helps to keep them “alive” Sasha is the youngest of the daughters. She has a special ability to feel things about the people she loves. Danny Larson (aka Dan West) is hired by Sasha’s sister Hannah to help out at her self-sustaining farm when she suffered an accident (it is played out in the prior book). He is an undercover journalist there to do an expose on the family. There is a LOT going on here. I was kept guessing all the way through here as to who was the actual “villain” here in this story. I was completely hooked right from the beginning and kept guessing (unsuccessfully I might add) all the way through. The action was all throughout the book and didn’t stop. This is a sexy read without going into too much graphic detail so if you don’t like that, I would skip over that. I wouldn’t miss out on this wonderful story though!

Sasha is so far my favorite of the Mainwaring daughters, but I struggled with Dan’s redemption. Sasha is a dancer, owner of the DanceWorks studio, and she meets and becomes involved with Dan – in the area and involved with her under false pretenses. However, Liam, the fire lieutenant is also interested in her, but nothing is as it seems. The family dynamic in this book is possibly the most fascinating part, particularly the woman power against their father/husband. The conclusion is particularly satisfying, and again Kathryn Shay leaves the reader wanting more.

This is the second in the series about ex President Jim Maiwarings daughters and it is another example of Katherine Shays great books! Sasha Masters who has dropped the Mainwaring name in order to escape the notoriety her name entails is living a delightful small town life when her sisters farmhand falls for her. Unknown to everyone, he isn’t a farmhand, he’s a journalist who is writing an expose on Sasha’s family and Sasha falls for him also. This is a great story with many subplots. I received an ARC copy of this and read it for no renumeration.
