Elle James - Montana SEAL Undercover Daddy - (Brotherhood Protectors-Book 9) “I volunteered and received a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. The opinion expressed here are my own.” If you have read the series, you will recall Chuck Johnson from: Montana Ranger’s Wedding Vow- Book 8. Chuck Johnson, former U.S. Marshal, was assigned to keep Dallas Hayes safe after she witnessed a murder. During this time, Dallas found out she was pregnant, and Chuck helps her with the baby. Chuck was sent to the Brotherhood Protectors in Montana to help him keep Dallas and the baby safe. Chuck works for the Brotherhood Protectors and he gets his own book, and we find out a lot. First, he is a sexy ex-Navy Seal and it does not matter that he is 47 YO. We also find out about his past and why he will never get married and have children again! And, he does not believe in love at first site! Kate Phillip’s twin sister, Rachael, left her daughter, Lyla, on Kate’s door steps in Los Angeles and Rachael told her two things; 1) Contact Hank at Brotherhood Protector’s in Montana, 2) Lyla needed to be protected at all costs. Kate didn’t know who was after Rachael and her husband Myles requiring Lyla to be at risk too. Kate,35, didn’t believe that it could be “that bad” and stayed in Los Angeles until a black masked man broke into her home to kidnap Lyla. Kate immediately went to Montana, found Hank Patterson and told him her story. Chuck’s first assignment is to protect Kate Phillips and her three (3) year old niece, Lyla. Everyone agreed that Kate and Chuck’s undercover story is they are married with a 3-year-old and will be moving to Montana. From the first day, their attraction to each other was off the chart. As they both gave each other ‘wide berth’ until they couldn’t stay away from each other. This installment has all the ingredients for a delightful book: mystery, non-stop heart stopping action, steaming sweet passion. What more could anyone want!

After a failed relationship, Kate devotes all her time and energy to becoming a successful businesswoman. She always dreamed of having a family, but left that to her twin sister after her last failed relationship. When she receives a frantic call from her sister asking her to open her front door, Kate finds Lyla--her twin's three-year old daughter. Rachel also tells Kate to contact Hank Patterson if she runs into any trouble and he would help her. She brings Lyla inside and barely gets the door locked before an intruder breaks in. After suffering the devasting loss of his family, Chuck retires from the SEALs to work with The Brotherhood Protectors. Hank has assigned Chuck a new case due to his "special abilities". Chuck is good with kids. When he meets Kate, he can't help but feel an immediate attraction to her. The fact that she has a "daughter", is a bonus! Chuck tries to stay focused on the job and knows he shouldn't start anything with a client, but the more time he spends pretending they're a family, the more he wishes they really were. This is hands-down my favorite Brotherhood Protector story! Failed relationships, tragic loss, and cults all mix to make this a very relatable story. Chuck is the kind of man every woman wishes she had! He's sweet, kind, protective, and good with children. I wish I had a Chuck! I read a gifted copy and all opinions stated are my own.

I've been waiting for Chuck's story! Wow, this book starts off with heart-stopping action that doesn't stop until the end of the story. We met Chuck in Montana SEAL Daddy – but you don't need to have read that book to enjoy this one – I loved him in that book and was so happy to finally get to read his story. The blurb tells you what you need to know about the book. I'll tell you that it kept me on the edge of my seat from the very beginning. I could feel the emotions coming off of Chuck and Kate and how they felt about little Lyla was unmistakable. Ell James is a great story teller and this is one of my favorites from her Brotherhood Protector series. The epilogue she wrote for this one is perfect! An advanced copy of this book was provided to me but my review was voluntary and not influenced by the author.
