About this eBook

Torn between loyalty and lust in a relationship so off-limits, it could cost her everything. A scorching romance by the author of The CEO Daddy Next Door.

Real estate agent Tara Sterling jumps at the chance to start fresh when she inherits part of her late ex-husband’s company. But claiming her rightful place at Sterling Enterprises means working side-by-side with CEO Grant Singleton, her ex’s best friend. Their long-simmering heat spells trouble as both vie for control of the business—and lose control of their thirst for each other . . .

Once Forbidden, Twice Tempted is about healing, discovering one’s potential, having a second chance in both business and love, and finding friendship in unexpected ways. It’s an enjoyable story that will have readers looking forward to seeing what will happen next.” —Harlequin Junkie

“The Sterling Wives . . . are intelligent, driven, and in control of their own future. I’m looking forward to reading the next two books.” —Read Your Writes

Johnathan had 3 marriages with his last only lasting not quiet a year when he passes away due to a freak accident leaving one current wife Miranda and to ex wives Tara and Astrid. For reasons unknown to anyone but Johnathan leaves each of the ladies 17% of his business now they must work out if they want to keep their shares or sell them and Tara sees this as her chance to finally show what she can do. Tara and Grants relationships is a bit of a complex one with plenty of history, a bit of conflict as well as an insane attraction that hasn't really ever been acted on before so between that, they tentative truce between wives and Tara's need to show everyone she is an asset to Johnathan and Grants business has you turning the page needing to know how it is all going to work out and leaves you needing to read the next book as soon as you finish!! I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

This book has left me feeling a little conflicted. I love the author’s work and her writing style. Grant and Tara are fantastic characters with lots of conflict and angst. I’m reserving judgement on Astrid and Miranda until I get into their own books, because here the just felt a bit whiny and overly dramatic. What bugged the living daylights out of me was the ‘dearly departed’ and the games he played with these peoples’ lives. I was baffled by how they could continue to respect the wishes of the petty despot and continued to shine up his tarnished reputation. I’d like to think that there’s a lot more going on and in future books in this series we’ll better understand why he pulled the strings he did. I received a complimentary advanced copy of this book through Booksprout.

This is the first story in the "Sterling Wives" series. A stand alone read that starts with the death of Jonathon Sterling dying in a car accident. He leaves his company to his two ex's and wife. This is Tara Starling and Grant Singleton's story. She wants to claim her rightful place at the company but must contend with Grant, the CEO and her ex's best friend. The lines definitely get blurred in this story. It's a captivating and intriguing story that is full on emotional depth.

About the author

Karen Booth is a Midwestern girl transplanted in the South, raised on '80s music and way too many readings of “Forever” by Judy Blume. Married to her real-life Jake Ryan, she has two amazing kids with epic hair, a very bratty cat, and loves getting up before dawn to write romance. With plenty of sparks.
