About this ebook

Will Ransome was born into rock and roll royalty. His dad and uncles make up the most popular rock band in recent history. The family’s record label cranks out hot new hit after hit. His siblings and cousins had instruments in their hands before they were old enough to read. Music is in his blood.

But Will wants nothing to do with it.

Will learned the hard way that fame and fortune are not all they’re cracked up to be. There’s a dark side to the rock and roll life, and Will had a front row seat to the destruction it caused. Now he’s determined to stay far from his famous father’s footsteps.

Eva Lidell was poised to be the next big thing when her world came crashing down. Instead of enjoying life as America's foremost pop princess, Eva now spends most of her time hiding away from the world she can no longer trust.

When Will meets Eva, something he didn’t even know was missing clicks into place. The sparks between them are instantaneous. Overwhelming. Dangerous. For the first time, both Will and Eva think they might be able to share their bruised and battered hearts with someone else...

Until Eva decides it's time for her to give superstardom another try, leaving Will to wonder if they have any chance together. How can he fall in love with a woman determined to work her way back to the same spotlight that nearly ruined his life?

Another success from Rachel Schurig. As a long time reader of Rachel's books it is a little strange to be taking such a jump forward in time, but this doesn't distract from the enjoyment of Will's story The story is told by alternating between the 2 main characters- the style of writing in which Rachel Schurig excels. As usual the reader is torn between appreciation of understanding both viewpoints as the frustration of wishing one character could understand the other better. For those who are new to Rachel's books she provides a reader which looks more deeply into the mind of her characters than your average "happy ever after" and without being overly soppy or explicit. This works fine as a standalone, if you enjoy it then I'd recommend the rest of the Ransomme series but I think reading the series of this generation (hopefully the others will follow soon) before reading about their parents would work just as well as reading about the parents first (in the original series we meet the siblings before the parent). For Rachel fans, its nice to catch up with "old friends" in the Ransomme brothers and their wives although we only get glimpses into the adult versions of the characters we knew. Theres also a few teasers around the stories of the other new characters which means you finish the book wanting more. In fact I'm torn between who's story I want next. Overall an enjoyable read for anyone who enjoys this genre. Definitely recommend

It's noble and all but God spare me from people with hero complex. Some things may influence what others do in their lives but it's not the be all and end all why they do the things they do. Ultimately what you choose to do is your own culpability and not what the people that surrounds you do or lack thereof. The fact was that, you didn't matter enough for them to consider the pain they left behind, ìt was so heavy for them that at the final and critical hour, they did not choose you and the life they would have had with you. Move on.This is the story of Will and Eva, a renowned pop star princess who had emotional and physical scarring due to an accidental fire on one of her singing gigs. Will also was traumatized by the death of an ex who was on the cusp of her career as a newbie singer and had an overwhelming drug addiction. I like this author, she writes a detailed fast paced story. Her characters had issues but she doesn't spend chapters making them rant and whine like the world owes them something. One can't help but love Eva and Will, they are perfect together.

I reread the random books during my pregnancy so was extremely excited when I found out there would be the next generations stories. I've not been able to stop reading this book. You're thrown straight back into it and it's great having the ransome brothers and their wives as familiar characters with their children who you instantly love just as much. I love that characters from the Rachel's other book series make little appearances in the book so it really gives something back to those that have read her books for a while.
