(4.5) Loved this one. I wish there was more of Hershey but when he is on the pages I am all in. Rowan our wounded ex military who works for Titanium Corp is on the search for Hershey, in fire devastated California. He brings strength, compassion and intelligence to this story. Brandi, who he runs into on his search, works for a Stem cell research Lab and has suffered numerous loss and heart break. I was a little flummoxed to her response when first meeting Rowan. Not the hesitation, heck they are strangers, but when he asked if she was searching for a lost pet. Dale does an exemplary job laying out the devastation from the fire through Rowans eyes. I felt like I could see it, feel the loss. There is a mystery, well done enough that I thought several people who were supposed to be "good" would turn out to be in on some of it. I love when I read a book at has heroes 4 legged and 2, but the cherry on top was the intrigue, the mystery - not angst between the couple. I am thrilled to receive this arc and freely volunteer my thoughts and opinions. Thank you Dale Mayer, thank you Booksprout.

This series always got me excited, a rescue mission to find/save the war dog, and this time it's a mission for Rowan to find Hershey, but everything is getting more complicated when there are potshots and dead bodies following them. Yes this book is definitely a page-turner with all the mystery and suspense in every corner, a perfect amount of suspense and sweetness, and a cute wonderful bonding between dogs and their handlers, definitely a book that can easily to be devoured in one sitting. If you're looking for a light suspense romance read, this book is for you.

This is book 10 in the K-9 Files series and it features Rowan and Brandi. Rowan was searching for a MWD named Hershey, that was lost during the big fires in California. The adoptive family suffered terrible losses during those fires and does not want the dog if he’s found. Brandy is searching for her dog that was also lost during the fires. She was overseas and was not here during the ordeal. As they embark on their journeys to find their dogs, the mystery, danger and suspense continue to build. Great story line!
