I've made the statement many times in several reviews that I thought an author had the job of eliciting emotions and reactions from their readers, whether good or bad, and in doing so would be a great success. I've even compared my reading experience to Ms. Simone Leigh's book to those of Pavlov's dogs … being trained for a reaction to her books. But today, I'm sitting here wondering how successful Ms. Leigh wants to be and whether or not she's a sadist! LOL Summer's Inferno is an Erotic Romance, so I'm putting my review within that perspective. I feel like I've been edged and brought to the brink of something utterly fantastic only to be left hanging with this burning need. Yes, the ultimate reaction will be so much better, I get the theory, but holy moly, in the short term I'm left with my heart palpitating, my adrenaline running, my mind in a whirlwind wondering what happens now. I loved the book and hope Klempner doesn't wind up dying some hero's death. I'll be devastated. Are you listening Ms. Leigh? You've done a fantastic job but please don't make us wait long for the next one. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

In Summer Inferno, Ms. Leigh serves up another sizzling hot stir-fry of delicious suspense and romance. It was SO good, I wanted 2nds and 3rds! A large part of my craving was caused by Larry. That man is one brainy fox; he’s unstoppable. There is just something so attractive about a reformed bad-boy. He’s addictive and he’s delectable. I love him (sorry, Mitch). Of course, James and Michael figured large in this episode, too, so I got a helping of those two seductive dishes, as well. And Charlotte! I’m a bit worried about her. I so want her to bounce back to her usual spicy, determined and intrepid self. Please bring on the next serving quickly, Simone!

Once again Simone Leigh serves us with a book that involves super steamy and erotic continent with a generous helping of mystery and suspense to keep us on the edge and anticipating what will happen. I absolutely love all the characters in this series, including Larry, who I definitely did not like at the beginning of the story but who has reformed himself to be important and useful for his family. I did not want to put this story down once I started reading it and at the end it left me wanting even more. Can't wait to see what's next!
