I love the parts that are like all the other Anita Blake books, 5 stars for that, but way to much therapy and feeling page after page of everyone's hang-up and problems. Not sure what Laurell K Hamilton was trying for, but not good. I understand we need to know the characters but she went way over board with the how everyone is getting therapy, a couple of sentences would have worked not pages and pages. I really hope this is not going to be the way for the next book.

I love the Anita Blake series but I felt like I missed something in the middle of this or more like it felt like it ended in the middle. One minute the characters are talking about killing the big bad then they're kissing Angel, then fighting over animals to call and then Richard is just accepted back? I hope the next book rounds it out and there is less talk about freaking therapy. the last like 5 books have already made it clear they are in therapy, we don't need chapter on chapter about it still.

The books in this series have been progressively getting worse. This book was 82% talking about how everyone is going to therapy. Don't get me wrong I appreciate that they are all growing emotionally but dang. There isn't even any real resolution to the newest conflict. Heck it's barely even mentioned. Hopefully the next book is better because I would rather not waste another $15.
