About this eBook

'If you ever wondered how it would feel to step into a living dream, here's your ticket' - Stacey Lee

Welcome to Caraval, where nothing is quite what it seems . . .

Scarlett has never left the tiny isle of Trisda, pining from afar for the wonder of Caraval, a once-a-year week-long performance where the audience participates in the show.

Caraval is Magic. Mystery. Adventure. And for Scarlett and her beloved sister Tella it represents freedom and an escape from their ruthless, abusive father.

When the sisters' long-awaited invitations to Caraval finally arrive, it seems their dreams have come true. But no sooner have they arrived than Tella vanishes, kidnapped by the show's mastermind organiser, Legend.

Scarlett has been told that everything that happens during Caraval is only an elaborate performance. But nonetheless she quickly becomes enmeshed in a dangerous game of love, magic and heartbreak. And real or not, she must find Tella before the game is over, and her sister disappears forever.

This was an entertaining read. I enjoyed the magic, the plot and the twists in the novel. Those kept me on continuing until the last book. The first two books I love that it focused on playing the game and dealing with sacrifices and consequences. While the third book is fun but it felt the romance was so forced into this since it wasn't that present in the first two. What I did not enjoy is the romance, the writing and the characters. The characters felt so bland that I do not give two cents about it. The characters, the personality of Scarlet and Tella is done well, they are so frustrating to read sometimes but I still understand why because they are two 17 years old girls. They're young, impulsive, and dumb, thinking their bad actions are noble when in reality they're not, especially Tella. While the guys....typical hot and bad boys with nothing else on the side. I wish there was more personality in the male characters. The writing though beautiful in describing the world and other magical elements, the repetitiveness is too much, even when listening to the audiobook. It breaks a lot of the emersion. Though despite it all, again, it was a fun read due to the magic and a great way for me to jump into when I needed it the most.
