ANTARICHA DIVA is a collection of screenplays written by V. S. Khandekar. He was recipient of Bharatiya Jnanpeeth Award, 1974. Khandekar was well-known Marathi Writer whose literature was translated into various languages like Guajarati, Hindi, Malayalam, Telugu, Tamil, Sindhi, Punjabi, Urdu, and Russian also. The films mentioned in this book were originally Marathi films and then were dubbed in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu. The period of these films is from 1936 to 1962. These films represent the first Golden Era of Marathi Films. The films namely : ‘Chaya’, ‘Jwala’, ‘Devata’, ‘Sukhacha Shodh’, ‘Lagna Pahave Karun’, ‘Amrit’, ‘Sangam’, ‘Sarkari Pahune’, ‘Tuzach’, ‘Maza Bal’, ‘Soneri Sawali’, ‘Antaricha Diva’, ‘Manasala Pankh Astat’, ‘Sunbai’ are originally released in Marathi and many of them are translated and dubbed into Hindi, Tamil and Telugu. These films were released under the banner of ‘Hans’, ‘Prafulla’, ‘Navyug’, ‘Surel’ Films. The director and main actors were Master Vinayak and Baburao Pendharkar. V. S. Khandekar was recipient of 1st Film Award of ‘India-Gohar Medal’. Films of Khandekar were developed one generation of Marathi Viewers and their classic test of film appreciation.
