Muhammad Haji Salleh

Prof. Muhammad Haji Salleh is one of the Malaysian writers who was awarded the National Literary Award in 1991. He also won the SEA Writers Award in 1997. In 2008, he was named National Academic Leader. He was the President of the Malaysian Translators Association (1978-1982) and many Malay-language poetry translated into English. He also serves on the editorial board of the Southeast Journal, a member of the Board of Directors of the Language and Library Council, and a member of the National Literary Awards Panel.
