The concluding book to the Witches of Canyon Road series, was a good one. We get the story of Elena and Alessandro as they both work through their own problems in a shared environment. The pair really didn't want to interact with another at first, instead with the ghost and demon that reside with the pair. It's not my favorite ending or book in the series but I did enjoy the story and am glad that both Elena and Alessandro got their happy ending. I did recieve an ARC but this not affect my review in any way.

Haunted Hearts is the final book in the Witches of Canyon Road series by Christine Pope and I am a big fan of the author but…I feel lukewarm about this book. I couldn’t connect with either Elena or Alessandro. Both Elena and Alessandro had ongoing issues stemming from childhood, Elena exhibited determination and perseverance while Alessandro just kind of went along with whatever others wanted. The first part of the book I didn’t feel any real chemistry between them. I did thoroughly enjoy both Victoria, the house ghost, and Belshegar, Elena’s childhood “friend” they were great secondary characters. However I was very disappointed in Elena’s cousin Ava, the main character from Higher Ground, she rescues Elena from her situation (not giving away spoilers) and then basically forgets her, leaving her to fend for herself. The romance was a very slow burn but finally took off with a satisfying conclusion but all in all I found this a okay conclusion to the Witches of Canyon Road series. I was provided an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Haunted Hearts Book 8 of Christine Pope’s Witches of Canyon Road is amazing. Elena Salazar having been previously rescued from her 11 years imprisonment by her Father and Grandmother decided that living in the empty house of her cousin Ava Castillo was the next step for her continued freedom. After settling in, and to her surprise, Alessandro Escobar, a warlock from the Salvadorian Clan, shows up to reside in the same house. Between Victoria the resident “Friendly Ghost”, Elena, Alessandro and the occasional visit from Belshegar, the extra-dimensional demon that protects Elena, life in the house and in general became quite out of the ordinary. Eventually the couple find a common ground and romance between Elena and Alessandro became the order of the day. Even though Haunted Hearts is the last book, and I’m sorry to see this series end, I recommended it highly along with the other books in the series. However, I am certainly looking forward to more of Christine’s continued Witches saga which on occasion intermingles various Clan members throughout her Witches/Warlocks series.
