About this ebook

She’s my best friend’s wife. I made him a promise I never thought I’d have to keep.

Now I’m about to dishonor him in the worst possible way…

River

I thought the hardest thing I’d ever have to do was bury my husband, my best friend, and the father of the child growing inside me.

Little did I know my husband asked his friend Storm to watch over me should anything happen.

Now that the worst has happened, or so I thought, Storm has me moved in with him.

A cabin in the Montana woods seems like a great place to hide for the battle ahead of us plus now the pesky pregnancy hormones have me feeling the kinds of things I should be for Storm.

I bet that poor man can’t wait to get rid of me…

Storm

My life in the mountains was simple and quiet… until River.

When my best friend Jason made me promise to take care of his pregnant wife, I never imagined I’d have to keep it.

Now, the woman I promised to protect, is under my roof and under my skin.

But not everyone seems ready to let Jason rest in peace and River might be the one to pay the price.

I made a vow to protect her and I will do whatever it takes to keep that promise, even if it means letting her go and having her take my heart with her…

I love this series. Although this book can be read as a standalone, I found I enjoyed it more, because I have read the rest of the series and it brings the other characters to life that little bit more. Storm is ex military, now a mountain man in Montana and been welcomed into a close knit network of friends. He promised his best military buddy he will take care of his wife if anything happened to him and now he has to stick to his promise. He sends for young, alone and pregnant River, he vows to protect her, what he doesn't expect is to fall hard and fast for her, for thier connection to grown and build even through grief. This is a beautiful story about finding love after loss. It's a little bit steamy, a little emotional, and alot about moving on, found family and a side of angst. I can't wait to read the next one. The Whiskey River mountain men have it all. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Storm made a promise to his best friend, Jason, that if anything happened to him while he was on deployment, to take care of his wife, River. When Storm takes her to Montana after Jason's parents decide to start a lawsuit for custody of River and Jason's unborn child. Forced proximity means feelings start between River and Storm and they fight it. Loved the unique way they resolved their guilt about Jason and the mountain men combined family is always heartwarming. I received a free copy of
