i read this book as part of an arc program. This is the fifth book in the Capsule Killer series. This book stats with Nate still trying to get evidence against Riley and Suede thinking he is innocent. This causes another strain between Nate and Suede. With Nate getting a new partner, Suede thinks it might be good to start distancing herself from him, knowing she won't be able to shadow him as much. Suede decides to move home and asks Graham to stay with her so she is not alone. There are more twists and turns coming and soon Suede doesn't know what to believe anymore. In this book, Suede learns more personal secrets and wonders how to keep investigating without being in more danger. I really am enjoying this series and it is keeping me guessing who the killer is. In this book, more secrets about the town's residents come to light and bring even more questions. I am really looking forward to the next book, well done.

Cruel and unusual punishment to wait Suede, our resident criminology student, cannot believe the turn the case has taken and is still reeling from everything they have found out so far. As the story progresses a new partner comes in, evidence paints an ugly picture, and being forced to face the truth is an ugly pill she does not want to swallow. W.L. Knightly’s Planting the Clues continues to twist the reader into knots with the Capsule Killer series. Forcing me to wait for the conclusion to put all the pieces together seems like cruel and unusual punishment. I received a free copy of the book from the author. I had the opportunity to review or not.

The story is compelling, and once I started, I couldn’t put it down. But, my highly suspicious nature meant that a lot of the big revelations in this book weren’t that much of a surprise to me. Trust nothing and no one, and everything’s suspect until proven otherwise. There’s a part of me that’s screaming blue murder that it’s taken five books for one of the characters to finally see what I was looking at in the first one. And now that just about every man in Suede’s life has managed to behave like a jerk to her, I’m almost hoping that in the final book she’s going to ride happily off into the sunset with none of them. I received a complimentary advanced copy of this book from the authors.
