Levi sends Bonaparte to help Sheriff Angela Zimmerman but maybe he (Levi) has more on his mind than just helping. Levi is known for his matchmaking. However, help is truly needed as her town is undergoing some unsettling changes being made by an outside rich source who wants control and will do anything to get it. Everything is going downhill quickly as these people want her gone. Angela at 6 feet and Bonaparte at 6 feet 5 inches make an interesting impressive couple. Not knowing who to trust they take on the interlopers. He is now her deputy and together they make positive changes in the town and in their lives as well. Great story, I'll read it again! The epilogue talks of Noah's next adventure. Can't wait!

Levi has been trying to set up his friend Angela who is the sheriff of a small town outside of Denver. Angela calls Levi for help since all her deputies have resigned. This gives Levi the perfect reason to send Bonaparte to be a deputy to her. This is not the typical ex-SEAL romance story, This is not a story where the ex-SEAL needs to save a kidnapped female and then protect her from the bad guys. This story takes us into the investigation where a few newcomers related to a crime boss come to her town and cause trouble. Just when you think that the bad guys are in jail for good, they escape, not once but twice. Hopefully, the sheriff and her new deputy can get to the bottom of it. The story highlighted the difficulty law enforcement faces when they do not know who can be trusted. The book does a good job of showing the inner struggle of Bonaparte as he wants to be protective, but has to stop himself since Angela is a very capable sheriff who can take care of herself. This story was a refreshing change from the usual ex-SEAL romance in this case the female did not need to be saved by the hero since they were equals. If you want to read something new and refreshing, I think you will enjoy this book as much as I did. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

It never gets old to have a strong women and an alpha man with compassion and heart. I loved that Angela was sheriff, intelligent and not taking anything lying down. You go girl. Bonaparte is a big guy, and he tackles life with laughter and strength. This was fast paced and intriguing read. You know two of the culprits name, but there is still a mystery behind it all. This was a quick read with a happy resolution, but still brings to light how easy things can change, how once you make a questionable choice you are on a slippery slope. We got to see Stone again (yes!) and meet some loveable dogs and i have to say I want to taste those ribs, come on! Thank you for the arc, all thoughts and opinions are my own and freely given.
