This picks up about three months after 'Mind Games' (Book 4), at the winter solstice. It will be a big help if you've read the series from Book 1 so you have a better idea of the characters and their relationships; and they are well worth reading. This book has many explanatory references so it could be read stand-alone. Jake and Addie are thinking about marriage, though not yet mentioning it to each other. Addie gets involved in a weather-related problem that is keeping rain and snow from Arizona and other western states. The romance between Jake and Addie continues to develop as Addie works to solve the weather problem with her special magic. This is a leisurely, tender, happy, sweet Christmas story. There is lots of loving with just a bit of joyful sex to seal their relationship, and a challenging problem to solve with magic. Addie is starting to fit right in with all the Wheeler Park witches.

A little amount of snow is all Addie Grant wished for her first Christmas with Jake Wilcox and her extended Wilcox Clan family. But it was not happening until another Wilcox Clan Witch suggested that they should investigate why the weather was so inconsistent over Flagstaff. In the meantime, Jake Wilcox has an engagement ring that he is trying to find the right moment in time to ask Addie to marry him. Addie then proceeds to find out what magic is forestalling the weather while Jake is having to put off his special intentions. This is a delightful tale of magic and how it was dealt with as well as the love of two special people. I recommended this book highly. It is definitely a must read.

What a beautiful romantic story! Addie will get her proposal, but Jake wants to wait for a white Christmas with snow gently falling when he gets down on one knee to propose to Addie. Unfortunately, there will not be any snow, but Jake finally realizes that it’s not the snow but his and Addie’s love for each other that is important. As with all of Christine Pope’s books, this one is no exception. It’s another one of those books that I suggest you start to read early in the day to avoid a sleepless night so that you can finish the book. It is simply impossible to put down! Enjoy.
